What’s The Difference?

The number one question I get asked every day is, “What is the difference between broad spectrum and Full Spectrum?” This seems like an easy question to answer, however, since we live in the beautiful state of Idaho, the question is a little more complicated then you would think. Let’s talk about it.

First, let’s talk about full spectrum. Full spectrum, as the name suggests, means that an oil or product contains all the cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant in nature, rather than just CBD. In fact it can contain more than 100 different cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, in addition to essential oils, terpenoids and flavanoids. This means that Farm Bill compliant full spectrum products will contain THC. While full spectrum CBD offers some health benefits, there are also some drawbacks. Because it contains THC, full spectrum CBD may have intoxicating or sedative side effects. It may also show up on drug tests, and the THC content can result in legal ramifications depending on the laws of your home state. For those reasons, TableRock Organics does not use full spectrum CBD in our products.

Broad spectrum CBD is CBD that has been extracted from the cannabis plant with all of the other compounds from the plant except for THC. That means it contains the same cannabinoids, essential oils, terpenoids and flavanoids that a full spectrum would, just without any THC. And because there is no THC in broad spectrum CBD, there should not be any intoxicating effects, and it shouldn’t show up on a drug test.

What does this mean for you? Well being that we are a Idaho company, based in Boise, it is important that our customers are fully aware of what they are buying and consuming. Idaho has not passed any legislation, at this time, that allows for any THC to be present in CBD products. I know there are a ton of products that are being sold right here in boise that are “full spectrum”, however, to do this, one of two things is happeing. Either the store is willing selling a full spectrum product to their customers, which is illegal by Idaho standards, or they are selling a product that is not full spectrum and marketing it as one to fool consumers into buying a product, which causes me to question not only the efficacy of the product but also the integrity of the company itself.

Quality is a key component in any health product, and that’s why we make it our mission to provide only the highest-quality Broad Spectrum CBD products possible. TableRock Organics has a partner manufacturing partner in California, where we use organic and sustainable farming practices to source our products. Our partner facility holds the USDA organic handler’s certification and is FDA Registered. We work tirelessly to provide only world-class hemp based products, and because we want to provide you with the best product possible, we test rigorously to ensure that there are no heavy metals, harsh chemicals, or molds. We test multiple times for potency and purity, and the result is a CBD product that is natural, organic, vegan-approved, gluten-free, non-GMO, made in America and, of course, contains 0.0% THC.
